Interclub Clicker Competiton at Crawley Dojo
In a Tri-Team Competition Crawley took on last years winners Docklands and Westcroft. The teams fought a round robin event with 12 competitors in each team and the team with the most points won the trophy.
Shihan David Pickthall and Sensei Neil Madeley ran the event with the help of Shihan Nick Da Costa and Shihan Maria Da Costa of Docklands and Sensei Paul Baker and Sensei Steve Worrell of Westcroft.
Many thanks must go to all the Crawley helpers that made it a fun day for the fighters and to all the parents that gave up their time to bring the kids along to this fund raising event.
This year Crawley took 1st place. There was also 6 individual categories with all medal winners below. As special award was given to Finlay Williams who won the most spirited fighter nominated by all the judges.

20th April 2008 - Open Knockdown Course
GB Coach David Pickthall organised a Knockdown course at the venue of the British Open, K2 sportscentre. 68 karateka from the BKK, IKO1, IKK, KKS, Shotokan, Daigaku and The Fight Factory to part in a 4 hour coaching seminar the worked on different aspects for the knockdown fighting system. After a warm up and stretch the students were broken into 3 groups where Shihan David taught fighting combinations on pads. Sensei Chris Seal (2 time Britsh Champ) taught tactics and positioning when under attack and Senpai Kenny Jarvis (2 time British Champ) concentrated on the dynamics of low kicks, targets to strike with high kicks to achieve KO and drawing attacks from your opponent to create weaknesses.
Due to the success of the event the BKK will look to host another later on in the year.
