20th April 2008 - Open Knockdown Course

GB Coach David Pickthall organised a Knockdown course at the venue of the British Open, K2 sportscentre. 68 karateka from the BKK, IKO1, IKK, KKS, Shotokan, Daigaku and The Fight Factory to part in a 4 hour coaching seminar the worked on different aspects for the knockdown fighting system. After a warm up and stretch the students were broken into 3 groups where Shihan David taught fighting combinations on pads. Sensei Chris Seal (2 time Britsh Champ) taught tactics and positioning when under attack and Senpai Kenny Jarvis (2 time British Champ) concentrated on the dynamics of low kicks, targets to strike with high kicks to achieve KO and drawing attacks from your opponent to create weaknesses.

Due to the success of the event the BKK will look to host another later on in the year.
